We've just returned from the bustling Natural & Organic Products Europe (NOPEX) show, in the natural beauty expo section of the show where our complete range of natural deodorants attracted crowds of enthusiastic visitors. As a UK-based family business selling natural deodorants since 1993, these events give us valuable face-to-face time with both loyal customers and those discovering our deodorants for the first time.

Our Award-Winning Stand: A Hub of Activity

Our stand was buzzing throughout the show, with countless visitors stopping to compliment its design and interactive elements. The projector display proved particularly effective in the venue's lighting, showcasing our products and values in a visually engaging way that drew people in from across the exhibition hall.

Visitors were thrilled to hear about our recent achievements – particularly our newly acquired B Corp Certification and the prestigious King's Award for Enterprise, International Trade 2025. These recognitions reflect our ongoing commitment to ethical business practices and excellence in bringing natural deodorants to a global market.

Our Natural Deodorant Range: More Extensive Than Many Realised

"I didn't realise you did so many products!" was the most common comment we heard throughout the event. Many visitors were familiar with one or two of our natural deodorants but were pleasantly surprised to discover our full collection includes:

The Classic Crystal: Three Decades of Natural Protection

Several visitors asked if our Crystal deodorant was new to the market - we had to smile as we explained it's actually been our flagship product since 1993! This enduring natural deodorant creates an invisible protective layer that prevents odour-causing bacteria from thriving, offering effective protection without synthetic ingredients.

For those new to natural deodorants, our Classic Crystal often serves as the perfect introduction to natural deodorants. They are also super economical, lasting up to 18 months with light use (based on two swipes under each armpit per day).

Refill Revolution: Reducing Plastic While Maintaining Convenience

Our refillable natural deodorant options generated significant interest, particularly our new pouch refills. These innovative pouches:

  • Provide enough product for three complete refills
  • Save 85% plastic compared to buying 3 new individual containers
  • Are lightweight for efficient shipping (a point that particularly excited our online retail partners)

  • Made from Mono Plastic for easier recycling

Since introducing our first refill in 2013 (our Salt of the Earth Unscented 1 litre refill), we've been committed to offering practical alternatives to single-use plastic packaging across our natural deodorant range.

Natural Fragrances That Impressed

Visitors spent considerable time exploring our different natural deodorant fragrances at our very own scent station. We have over 13 fragrances including unscented in our refillable spray deodorant and refillable roll on deodorant ranges.

Popular choices at the show included our latest fragrance Oud & Bergamot, as well as our classics Peony Blossom and Ocean & Coconut.

We were also asked whether our fragrances are gendered. The simple answer is they are not because in the past we have genderised fragrances and we found we had lots of women using the men's fragrances and lots of men using women's fragrances, so we thought who are we to decide! Some fragrances in the range are more masculine – Vetiver & Citrus, Oud & Bergamot and Amber & Sandalwood, others are more feminine – Clary Sage & Mint, Lavender & Vanilla and Peony Blossom. Ocean & Coconut and Melon & Cucumber are very unisex.

The People Make the Show: Retailers and Customers

One of the most exciting aspects of trade shows is undoubtedly the people you meet, and NOPE 2025 was no exception. The enthusiasm and genuine interest from visitors made all the preparation worthwhile!

Meeting independent retailers who stock our products was a true highlight of the show. We were touched by their passionate feedback about how Salt of the Earth natural deodorants not only sell exceptionally well but have created loyal customer followings in their stores. These relationships with retailers who believe in our products as much as we do are absolutely invaluable to us as a family business.

The conversations with end consumers were equally rewarding – from long-time users who stopped by to share their Salt of the Earth success stories to newcomers excited to discover effective natural deodorants that align with their values. These direct interactions provide insights that simply can't be gained any other way.

Industry Connections: Established Friends and New Innovations

It was wonderful to reconnect with fellow brands we've come to know well on the show circuit – those familiar faces who understand the unique challenges and rewards of creating natural products with integrity. The natural products community has always been supportive, and these connections continue to inspire us.

Equally exciting was discovering new and innovative brands making their mark in the natural products space. The creativity and commitment to sustainability throughout the exhibition halls were palpable, and we came away with fresh ideas and renewed energy.

Looking Ahead: NOPE 2026 at the Design Centre

Next year brings an exciting change as NOPE moves to the Design Centre in Islington, with the food section branching into its own dedicated show. This evolution will allow the natural and organic beauty section to expand, providing even more opportunities to showcase innovations in natural personal care products like our deodorant range.
